2015 V60s are already $30K vehicles. Im talking clean and barely driven examples are right on that line. Your double-annual mileage examples are hitting $25,000. This means there is about to be a wave of 240hp to 325hp 4, 5, and 6-cyl compact wagons falling between $18,000 and $30,000 in another 18 months.
Just remember that for the 2015 MY:
All 4-cyls (turbocharged and supercharged) are FWD but are setup for regular gasoline. An 8-speed auto and 240hp @ 5600rpm, 258lb-ft @ 1500rpm (280lb-ft for 10 seconds on overboost). EPA 25/37mpg (27mpg realistically though)
The 5-cyls are the AWD models. You get a 6-speed automatic, 250hp @ 5400rpm and 266ft-lbs of torque @ 1800rpm on regular gas. EPA 20/29mpg (which will run closer to 24mpg). Not a bad fall for AWD and a 5-cyl.
The Cross Country is one step better because ground clearance and body cladding. This one will also likely hold its value better than any other V60 of this model year. Expect the real world mpg to drop to 23 mpg if not 22 mpg.
The 6-cyl R-Designs use the same 6-speed auto and AWD as the 5-cyls. Upgrades are more aesthetic and sport based. You get 325hp @5600rpm and 354ft-lbs of torque @ 2100rpm supposedly on regular gasoline like all the rest. EPA 19/28 mpg which will likely show up between 22mpg and 24mpg for you.
If you live in a dry climate at high altitude (like myself), the FWD model is honestly the best car. Elevation means the vehicle makes more power than the 5-cyl while pulling around a lighter vehicle.
If you live somewhere that accumulates snow, go Cross Country. If you plan to trade-in rather than run it until the paint falls off...go Cross Country!
If you live somewhere that worries more about rain than snow, the T6 R-Design is going to be a Swedish Subaru WRX STI.
I know, no manual! But seriously? Seriously?! That’s what Miatas, BRZs, and STs are for. Hell, by mid 2018 you’ll be able to have your pick of clean AWD 2015 V60 for $24,000 and a 2014 Ford Fiesta ST for $14,000. Now, a Focus RS will still be cheaper overall while doing both jobs. Either way you go on the choice, that’s pure win!
Personally, I think a FWD, 2015 V60 will be the next car I purchase. Thank you living in Albuquerque, where the version no one wants of a vehicle is perfect!
I’ll have a RWD, V8 Grand Cherokee, and a FWD, 4-cyl Volvo Wagon in two/three years...wobbles the mind, amiright?
*Side Note: Fiesta STs are the least driven cheap cars I have ever seen! Go check it out!!

I’m thinking that this will be my next vehicle, too. They’re hard to find around me (Central PA) cause we’re in soccermom-land where everybody wants their GL450.
Are they common in ABQ? I've been meaning to visit some friends...
That's gonna leave a mark!

Life is easier (and cheaper) if your not addicted to the smell of new car plastic.

No, not at all. But I’m the patient type. The trick is not getting an ex-fleet car (which is probably 80% of used cars under 5 years old). Come out to ABQ, it’s beautiful in summer and keeps 25-35 degrees cooler than Arizona or Nevada! Every color of dirt you can imagine...but pretty!

Sigh... The V60XC is still going to be a $45,000 car here in a couple years.

I don’t blame you there. When I was shopping around for a work vehicle, the used car dealers were so awful (as well as their cars) that I was going to buy new. Buying used from luxury dealers helped a lot since they get the best condition trade-ins and treat you well.

I lived in SF and worked in ABQ for 09-14. Miss it (and the weather) daily!

It may be worth the drive South if you have a vehicle you’re trading-in I guarantee they’ll be $35,000 if even that much out here. Assuming gas prices. Sub-$2.25 regular, biggest SUV/Truck you can get. Over $3.50 regular, looking for a hybrid. It’s that area around $2.90 when people start looking to downsize but not all the way to high-efficiency. Thats when a small crossover getting 26 mpg and over becomes the standard and prices on those models bump up. Great time to sell though!

We bought a 2015 Volvo V60 T5 Drive-E Platinum in Power Blue a few months back. 19,300 miles. We got it for $26,000.
Amazing car. Ours has almost every option but the adaptive cruise control and navigation

I’m in the market for a new car (CPO actually), and these things intrigue me. I actually saw one on the road today, temp plates, looked R design. White, very nice. The problem is, there arent a lot of these available as CPO’s. the ones that are available, are stripper models with the small wheels (unlike the pic you posted).
Also looking at 16 Golf Sportwagen, 16 Civic Touring (hatchback if i can wait) and CPO 320i and 328i with M-Sport package.

I can’t stand the interior on those Volvos. The new ones using the SPA platform are amazing, and while the exterior on the V60s and S60s look pretty good, those interiors look 20 years old. I can’t get over that.

The lightly used V60 market is becoming quite a deal, though good luck finding a 2015 T6 R-design cars for low 30's.

I can recommend the V60 - even the lower spec T5 FWD packs plenty of punch and offers great fuel economy. 27 MPG in mixed driving is accurate, but only because it’s tempting to step on it. Cruising on the highway at 80-85 I’ve seen an indicated 33 MPG if not too many inclines are included in the route.
Handling is very good, and the suspension tuning is just right. It’s a great road trip ride - the extra cargo room means you can bring back cool stuff you find along the way. Most comfortable seats I’ve ever sat in. Went conservative with the Saville Gray and then got the darkest legal tint on the windows. So nice.

Its an awesome car! Love the engine and gearbox. Volvo knows what they are doing!
I plan on getting a sub $20k one in a couple years when my C30 is paid off
